Luca Manfredi Negri Will participate in UTHC 125 Race details
  • ITRA : 866
  • Sex : Man
  • Country : Italy

Luca Manfredi Negri, a 36-year-old Italian athlete, has always been driven by his greatest passion: sports. After practising a wide variety of sports at a young age, Luca began to develop an interest in running at age 25; first on the road, then by conquering more technical terrain such as mountain running. His passion grew as he participated in skyraces, skymarathons, and finally, long-endurance ultra-trail competitions.

Luca steadily developed as an athlete, gradually improving his performances and his results year after year. Having grown up between the mountains (Aprica) and the plains (Milan), his heart and soul have always been drawn north towards the hills and mountains, where he regularly spends his weekends in search of the remotest trails and most breathtaking landscapes.

As seen through his results in the last few years, Luca is fulfilling his vast potential, achieving great victories and tallying up major rankings. He wishes to continue on this journey of commitment, sacrifice, progress, victory, defeat, and great passion, all the while practising the best sportsmanship possible.

Vincent is a mountain dweller who loves the outdoors, trail running, and sports travel. Now living in Annecy, he has the great privilege of training in the Alps. To him, ultra-trail running is a fantastic way to make new discoveries and encounters.

Often found skiing in the winter and cycling or trail running in the summer, he loves discovering new places, but also enjoys competition and going head-to-head with the very best. His career as a sports coach and consultant allows him to include training in his schedule, as he continuously works to improve his performance.

Elizabeth Canty Will participate in UTHC 125 Race details
  • ITRA : 716
  • Sex : Woman
  • Country : United-States
Liz Canty started running in 2015 after dedicating several years to rugby as a player and coach. Finding the long distance and easy paces of trail running more desirable than marathon training, she started competing in ultra marathons after moving to Alabama, USA from Massachusetts.

She finds the more grueling, hilly and complex the race – the more fun she has. Competing at the Barkley Marathons, Georgia Death Race, Western States and the Bear 100 miler have been the highlight of her running adventures so far – not to be outshined by long adventures with her trail-running husband and poodle.

Liz is a Suunto-sponsored athlete, and currently is working on several NASA projects as a systems engineer in Huntsville, AL.

Mylène Sansoucy started running as a child and hasn’t stopped! Mylène ran her first marathon at 20 years old and has completed more than 20 since then.

She took up trail running about ten years ago, when the sport was just getting started in Quebec. She ventured into the longer distances in 2017, racking up great performances one after the other.

In fact, she’s held the women’s record for the Ultra-Trail Harricana 80k since 2018.

An engineer by trade and mother of four-year-old twins, this Quebec City resident is an excellent example of balancing work, family and sports. She’s hoping to push her limits even farther in 2020.

Alexandre is only in his third trail-running season, but his results are already signalling his potential. An engineer heading up a project in a hospital, Alexandre is a big proponent of cross-training and spends most of his free time training on the track, running the trails, biking or swimming. Eating vegan for the past eight years, he’s also passionate about nutrition to adopt healthy eating habits and find ways to optimize his sports performances.

Now a tried-and-true trail lover, Alexandre is fascinated by how resilient our bodies are and how they are capable of so much more than we could imagine. He’s hoping to encourage his social circle to move more and to catch the trail-running bug.

He’s loved cross-country skiing since he was a child, and running became his favourite sport when he was in university. He started running marathons before switching to trail running about three years ago.

Guillaume enjoys the overarching mental aspect of the sport and that women can compete equally with men. He sees running as a combination of useful, exhausting, minimalist, effective and renewing.

After an exceptional season in 2019, he is excited to see how his 2020 race might be different and will maybe even beat his time!

“I’ve loved nature and hiking since I was a kid. I started ultra-running in 2014 on a dare from my sister and two of my cousins. My sister and I fell instantly in love with trail running and its ambiance, so it seemed like a logical next step in our quest to push ourselves”. That’s how Team Cauchon was born!
